First let me introduce you to my weekend wards. First is Denver. She's a VERY active four month old who's full of love, adventure and curiosity!

And this is Gringo. A nice mellow little guy who loves to curl up next to you and just chill out. He also does a lot of just staring which can get a little creepy at times. But I think we will be pals for some time!
There's also a young little kitty named Socks but she's spends her days outside and only needs to be feed twice a day.
So when I first got the text asking if I would be able to help, I was a little wary. I'm not exactly what you would call an animal person. But then I considered the fact that they have WiFi AND television and you better believe I was shoving clothes in that duffel faster than I could text a YES back! No walking to the library! No weird people sniffing, coughing and looking over your shoulder. And a comfy little sofa to sit on while I surf away. I could see no down side to this arrangement. And that's all before I found out I would get paid to do this!
There were of course, those funny little "How do you turn this thing on" and "What was that noise" moments. But once I figured out how work the coffee pot and downloaded a nice sleep sounds app on my iPhone I was good to go. Quite a few hours were spent on the web and invested in this blog this weekend. I was able to make some nice little adjustments and changes that I hope make it more user friendly and that you'll appreciate. I've actually had to do a lot studying to figure out some of them and have learned a tremendous amount. New skills for the resume! Yippee!!
Outside of surfing the web and zoning out in front of the TV I did do a good bit of exploring of the property. All with my little friends in tow. And let me say -this property is amazing! I've been out here a bunch of times and it never gets old. There are several old farm houses that have been, or will be renovated.
Numerous old barns.
Tractors, old pickup trucks and farm equipment.
A pretty little creek with several bridges.
And best of all, it was sunny and in the mid 60's the whole time! What a way to spend the weekend! I was able to have a little adventure, make some much needed improvements to my blog and learn some new skills too! Who could ask for more?
Hopefully you'll take a minute to check out some of the changes I've made on the homepage. I'm especially proud of the new header! Had to learn quite a few new skills to come up with that one. Leave a comment and let me know what you think! And as always any tips and advice you have to share is greatly appreciated!
Hope you enjoy!

Love the pictures, Amber. You have quite the eye for finding beauty in things that others might see as just junky.
